DB2 toolkit version 2.0.1 introduces several major changes that will dramatically improve our customers’ experience and expand functionality.

Database Level Feature
DB2 on Delphix was initially designed to work at the Instance- level: an instance being a collection of DB2 databases. For the DB2 2.0.1 release, Delphix has improved DB2 operations to the database-level. This enhancement will provide users with simplified administration and operations of the DB2 VDBs.
Important Notes
- Delphix will not be providing an upgrade path between the instance level toolkit (DB2-1.x.x and the DB level toolkit DB2-2.x.x) which may lead to data loss, and impact on business continuity. In order to ensure a smooth migration, please contact your account team.
- We only support installs of DB2-2.x.x going forward. The DB2-1.x.x toolkit should no longer be installed. All installs of DB2 toolkit should be done using the DB2-2.x.x toolkit which is only compatible with Delphix Engines specified in the Toolkit/Delphix Engine Compatibility Matrix below.
BLU Feature
DB2 BLU is a collection of technologies for analytical database workloads. BLU Acceleration design integrates different technologies including in-memory processing of columnar data, Actionable Compression, CPU Acceleration, and Data Skipping.
Virtualization of DB2 BLU with Delphix provides users with not only storage savings but with agility, integration and federated DB support.
Certifications: In all Delphix releases, we introduce support for new data source / operating system versions.

Deprecated Features
In this release the following features were deprecated:
- support for DB2 10.1
- support for AIX 6.1
Removed Features
The following features are no longer supported:
- Bufferpool memory option — Users can no longer set the bufferpool memory using Delphix Engine.
- Mount point location option — The mount point will be decided by the toolkit and the base location for new mount point will be toolkit directory space. The new mount point will be in the format : <toolkit dir>/DB2/mnts/<USER>/<DB Name>/<USER>.
Toolkit Installation
Toolkits to support DB2 virtualization are not automatically included in the Virtualization Engine deployment, and are installed by Delphix Professional Services or Technical Support. A Support case can be opened requesting installation by following this link.
